Under 14 & Under 12 Boys Assessment Day

We would like to invite boys who will be Under 14 on January 1st 2022 to register for our Autumn Assessment Day. This will be help our team of Coaches to select players to join our Winter Training Squads. The day will be split into two sessions, morning and afternoon - the morning group will be for boys with a handicap of up to 24.  The afternoon will be for the boys with handicaps of 25 and over.

The boys will be coached and assessed on 3 key aspects of the game

• Shot Making
• Short Game - Pitching and Chipping
• Putting

Selection for the Coaching Squads will be selected based upon potential as well as playing handicaps . The assessment and coaching programme will form the basis of selection to the 3 squads which will be

• Under 14 Team
• Under 14 Development
• Under 12 Futures

During the playing season, the Under 14 team will compete against Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Wiltshire . We will also play two friendly matches against  Glamorganshire and Gloucestershire. We will also supply players to represent Somerset in the South Western Counties Under 16 & 14 Championships. In 2021, 22 different boys from 12 clubs played for their County.

The Under 12 team will play friendly matches against Devon and Gloucestershire and compete in a 5 Counties Tournament
