Saturday, 1st March 2025 marked the beginning of the partnership between Fosseway Golf Club and the Bath-based charity Mentoring Plus.

Mentoring Plus supports young people in Bath & North East Somerset who are facing various challenges. They help 5-25-year-olds feel connected through award-winning mentoring schemes, youth clubs, and inspiring activity programmes within the local community.

The event featured Golf Club members, along with mentors and mentees, who participated in a nine-hole Texas Scramble competition. Club members generously provided sets of clubs for the mentees, many of whom were experiencing golf for the very first time. The weather was perfect, and a great day was had by all.

Afterwards, a presentation was held, with Ruth Brown and John Harvey from Mentoring Plus giving an insightful talk about the charity and the ways in which they support young people. Prizes were then awarded to all the mentees.

Looking ahead, the Golf Club has committed to allowing all mentors and mentees to play free golf with a member, providing them with the opportunity to enjoy the game.

A big thank you goes to  Somerset Golf Union and Mark Manley from Centurion Hotel to help support the event.

Additionally, in the coming months, there will be fundraising events, including a games night and a charity golf day at the end of the year.
